Charter plane emergency lands in Turkey
The engine of a jet carrying passengers returning from a charter vacation in Turkey exploded shortly after takeoff early Thursday morning, forcing the plane to make an emergency landing back at its originating airport at Antalya. According to travel bureau Tyrkiet Experten, which contracted the flight operated by Onur Airlines, the plane was took off at around 3 am Danish time and was in the air around 30 minutes before again touching ground at the airport in southern Turkey. There were no injuries reported and the plane's passengers returned to Copenhagen on another flight later that day. Nonetheless, several passengers were still clearly shaken after coming out of Kastrup Airport's international arrivals hall. One traveller on the plane, Michael Bj�rnson, said the scariest part of the episode was when the aircraft was flying back to the airport over the Mediterranean after dumping its fuel.

Three senior Jet Airways officers quit
Three senior officers of Jet Airways have quit the premier private carrier, which today refuted similar reports about its Executive Director Saroj Dutta. The airline confirmed that Vice President in the Chairman's Office N Hariharan, General Manager (Security) Col (Retd) A S Bedi and Senior GM (In-flight Services) S Bandula had quit the company "for reasons of career prospects and family commitments." Hariharan told PTI that he had put in his papers and was joining the Mumbai International Airport Limited as its Director, Corporate Communications. Referring to the reports which said that several other officials had also put in their papers, a Jet Airways spokesperson said, "three persons leaving an organisation for their own career prospects cannot be described as a sudden exodus".
